A Novel Random Walk Optimization Based Technique for Robust Damping Control System Design for TCSC

چکیده

A method for the design of supplementary damping control system for TCSC in a power system is presented in this paper. The problem is formulated as an optimization problem with an eigenvalue based multi-objective function. Various optimization techniques have been used in the past but here, a novel random walk optimization technique is used to find optimal set of controller parameters by minimizing the objective function. The performance and robustness of the proposed approach is validated through small signal and nonlinear simulations for different loading conditions of a multimachine power system.
